Euro And Europe On The Brink, Says Delors

(RTTNews) - The euro and Europe are on the brink of a collapse, Former European Commission President Jacques Delors told the Belgian daily Le Soir and the Swiss newspaper Le Temps in an interview.

Delors, one among those who drafted Maastricht Treaty, said that the recent Franco-German summit failed to provide real solution to the current crisis. He said member states should either accept closer economic cooperation or it has to transfer more powers to the Union. The second option was rejected by a majority earlier, he noted.
