(RTTNews) - India's food inflation eased in the week ended August 27, preliminary data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry showed Thursday.
Inflation slowed to 9.55 percent in the week ended August 27 from 10.05 percent in the week ended August 20. In the week prior to that, the rate of inflation was 9.8 percent.
At the same time, prices of non-food products rose 19.88 percent annually, after growing 17.19 percent in the preceding week.
Prices of primary articles rose 13.34 percent year-on-year, slowing from 12.93 percent in the previous week. Costs of fuel and power climbed 12.55 percent during the period.
Prices of liquid petroleum gas climbed 15.28 percent, while petrol prices were 23.23 percent higher than last year.
