(RTTNews) - Italian industrial orders increased less than economists expected in July, data released by statistical office Istat showed Tuesday.
Industrial orders increased an unadjusted 6.5 percent year-on-year in July, markedly slower than the 8.3 percent growth economists expected.
New orders in the domestic market rose 4.3 percent annually, while in the non-domestic market they grew 10.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial orders rose a seasonally adjusted 1.8 percent in July, while economists called for a 1.5 percent decline. Domestic orders rose 2.2 percent month-on-month, while orders in the non-domestic market grew 1.3 percent during the month.
At the same time, turnover in Italian industries increased a calendar adjusted 7.7 percent in July, while month-on-month, turnover rose a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent.
