(RTTNews) - The German private sector growth continued to slow in September, Markit Economics said Thursday.
The flash composite output index came in at 50.8, the lowest since July 2009. The index dropped from 51.3 in August. The latest slowdown was driven by the service sector.
The services Purchasing Managers' Index dipped to 50.3 from 51.1 in August. Economists were expecting the indicator to drop to 50.5 in September.
At the same time, the manufacturing PMI reached neutral level of 50, down from 50.9 in August and stayed below the 50.5 reading forecast by economists.
