Gold Steady At 7-week High In Asian Trading

The price of gold was firm near its seven-week high in Asian trading Tuesday amid a steady U.S. dollar
Gold for April delivery, the most actively traded contract, edged up $3.60 to $1,738.00 an ounce. Yesterday gold ended flat around its 7-week high amid strength in the value of the U.S. dollar, which moved higher amid renewed concerns about the financial situation in Europe.
Holdings of SPDR Gold Trust, the world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, were unchanged at 1,271.09 tons.
