Czech Nov. Current Account Balance Better Than Expected

Czech current account posted a surplus in November, confounding economists' expectations for a deficit, data from the central bank showed Friday.

The current account balance was in a surplus of CZK 6.6 billion in November compared to CZK 4 billion deficit expected by economists.

The surplus in October amounted to CZK 1.3 billion. In November last year, the balance was in a deficit of CZK 7.72 billion.

The capital inflow on the financial account was CZK 13.1 billion. The balance of direct investment recorded a surplus of CZK 5.5 billion, the central bank said.
