New passenger car sales increased 3.4 percent on an annual basis to 14,263 units in January. New diesel-driven passenger cars accounted for 41.3 percent of the total sales.
The most common new passenger car makes registered in January were Toyota, Volkswagen and Ford. The most common models were Nissan Qashqai, Toyota Avensis, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Golf.
Overall, new vehicle registrations advanced 0.3 percent year-on-year to 20,289 during the month, the agency said.
