Gold Steady Near 3-month High

The price of gold was steady in Asian trading Wednesday ahead of the refinancing operation by the European Central Bank.

Gold for April delivery, the most actively traded contract, edged up $1.70 to $1,790.10 an ounce. Yesterday, gold gained nearly 1 percent to settle at a three-month high as the dollar declined after some mixed U.S. economic data.

Holdings of SPDR Gold Trust, the world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, were unchanged at 1,284.61 tons.
