Japan Dec. Wages Revised Up To Show 0.1% Growth

Japan's labor cash earnings increased 0.1 percent year-on-year in December to JPY 551,618, revised up from the preliminary estimate of 0.2 percent decline, data from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare showed Friday. Meanwhile, average base wages fell 0.3 percent from last year to JPY 244,241 during the month. Overtime pay increased 1.7 percent annually.
Special cash earnings increased 0.4 percent compared to December 2010, while contractual wages edged down 0.1 percent.
