New Zealand's business confidence improved slightly in February, data from a survey by the Bank of New Zealand showed Tuesday.
The number of respondents expecting an improvement in in business conditions in the next twelve months increased modestly to 13 percent in February from 3.2 percent in the previous survey conducted in December. In the November survey, the balance of those expecting an improvement and those expecting a deterioration in the business environment was -2.2 percent.
The latest improvement in confidence was the second in a row, and was in line with generally improving indicators overseas.
However, entrepreneurs in the country remained worried about the delay in rebuilding Christchurch, the lack of consumer spending growth and the high New Zealand dollar, data showed.
