Europe Car Registrations Decline In February: ACEA

Europe new car registrations declined further in February, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, or ACEA said Thursday.
In February, registrations dipped 9.7 percent from a year ago, after easing 7.1 percent in January. Registrations totaled 888,878 units in February. Demand for new cars declined across all major markets except Germany, where it remained flat.
Registrations in Spain dropped 2.1 percent and fell 2.5 percent in the U.K. Italy and France showed sharp declines of 18.9 percent and 20.2 percent, respectively.
In the first two months of 2012, registrations in EU totaled 1.85 million, or 8.3 percent less than in the same period a year earlier.
