RBA Maintains Cash Rate At 4.25%

The Reserve Bank of Australia on Tuesday decided to keep the benchmark cash rate unchanged at 4.25 percent as expected by economists.
The central bank said that if demand conditions weaken materially, the inflation outlook would provide scope for easier monetary policy.
However, Reserve Bank Board judged that the current setting of monetary policy remained appropriate for the moment, with growth expected to be close to trend and inflation close to target.
